Gift ideas for women who already have everything

RevøraGift · Gift ideas · Buying guide

The problem with people who buy everything for themselves isn't choice. It's that they pick their own things better than anyone giving them a gift. If you still want to find something, you have to switch categories.

The three categories that work

  1. What you don't buy yourself. Not because it would be too expensive, but because there's no occasion. A really good basic fits exactly into this gap — you only replace it once the old one is worn through.
  2. What hits an inside joke. A phrase only she understands, or a place she's been. That beats any expensive neutral gift.
  3. What saves time or gives time. Everything else is just more stuff.

What doesn't work

  • Decor. Anyone who has furnished a home has finished furnishing it.
  • Fragrance. Too personal, too often wrong.
  • Vouchers that look like "I couldn't think of anything". If it's a voucher, make it for something specific.
  • Anything with a printed first name. Unless it's an inside joke — then see above.

Why a good shirt works more often than you'd think

Giving clothes is considered risky because size is tricky. With oversized shirts that becomes less of an issue: one size too big isn't a mistake here, it's the cut. And a shirt made of combed cotton at 220 g/m² feels different from thin standard goods the moment it's unwrapped — you notice before you even put it on.
